A video fits when you want one continuous piece that guests can watch or forward as a file. It can also work as a social announcement. The editing and music are part of a fixed timeline.

Guests may need to pause or replay it to find an address or time. If the schedule changes, an updated file needs to reach people who saved the earlier version. File size and playback quality depend on how it is exported and shared.

When an interactive link fits

A link fits when opening the invitation is part of the experience and you want the event details and reply in one place. Guests need a browser and an internet connection.

In CardCraft, the couple personalises a design, reviews it, pays and shares the published guest link. Guests open the invitation on their phone. The link can sit inside a short WhatsApp message rather than replacing that personal introduction.

Compare these before choosing

Test a real example on the phone and connection your guests are likely to use. A beautiful desktop preview alone does not tell you how it will feel from a WhatsApp chat.

• Can guests find the date and venue without help?
• Does the experience make sense without sound?
• Can guests reply in the way you need?
• What happens when details change after sharing?
• Is the deliverable a hosted link, a video file, or both? Confirm before paying.

You can give each format a different job

A short social clip can announce the wedding, while a hosted invitation carries the full schedule. If you use both, keep names, dates and venue details consistent.
